Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the in-house team of surveying and property professionals working to conserve six palaces, including two World Heritage Sites, scheduled monuments and Grade 1 listed buildings, whilst keeping them alive as vibrant visitor attractions. We have a £50m programme of building conservation works, new build, refurbishment, conversion, representation and infrastructure projects and need to add quantity surveyors to our team.
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will help deliver award-winning projects whilst working closely with highly skilled craftsmen, conservators, specialists, architects, engineers, surveyors and curators. You will prepare papers to give contractual and project related advice in accordance with best professional practice, whilst maintaining awareness of contractual developments, new standard forms of contract, case law.

With a degree in Quantity Surveying, you will be looking to build on your post-grad experience in a consultancy or client-side capacity. Ideally working towards your APC, you will have a good understanding of quantity surveying pre and post contract duties, built on the basic principles of contracts and procurement.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project, and will be familiar with CAD software, and will be able to express your ideas clearly when drafting reports.
The role will require travel to all HRP's sites.
