As Operations & Hospitality Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bringing extraordinary moments to life at Hillsborough Castle. From formal dinners and conferences to Investitures, Citizenship Ceremonies, Garden Parties, Gun Salutes, and VIP or overnight stays, you will orchestrate events that are both memorable and meaningful, delivered with warmth, grace, and impeccable attention to detail.
Leading the Household and Hospitality teams, you will inspire excellence through visible leadership, day to day guidance, and thoughtful coaching. Your approach will ensure every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of care and professionalism. Working in close partnership with colleagues across the estate, you will champion a strong “one team” culture, and help shape the future success and reputation of Hillsborough Castle.

Key Responsibilities• Lead, motivate, and support the Household and Hospitality teams, fostering a positive, professional working environment.• Plan and deliver ceremonial, official, and stakeholder events to exceptional standards.• Coordinate staffing, logistics, programme requirements, and guest experience across all events and hospitality activities.• Oversee VIP and overnight experiences, ensuring seamless service and discretion at all times.• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the estate to deliver multi departmental events and shared objectives.• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and complete/oversee risk assessments.• Undertake additional duties as required to support smooth operational delivery.

About You
Essential skills & Experience:
• Experience in hospitality or operational delivery, ideally supported by relevant qualifications (Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or Hotel Management).• Proven experience planning and executing complex or high profile events.• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and develop staff.• Excellent organisational and logistical skills with meticulous attention to detail.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders.• Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.• Understanding of Health & Safety processes and risk assessment procedures.
Desirable skills & Experience:
• 3+ years’ experience leading hospitality or operational teams in high profile or service driven environments.• Experience within heritage, cultural, or historic settings.• Experience managing VIP accommodation or guest stays.• Awareness of ceremonial protocols and/or heritage conservation considerations.• A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
