Palace Host (Seasonal)

Historic Royal Palaces is a charity that looks after six iconic sites in the UK: Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. We want everyone to feel welcome and accepted. We tell stories about the monarchs you know, and the lives you don’t. We let people explore and we set minds racing.  

You will be joining our friendly and experienced team in supporting us during our exciting Summer period. We will be hosting a range of events, from our annual Music Festival and Food Festival alongside our range of spirit stirring programming and interpretation. 

You will be working with the team in the beautiful historic rooms and checking tickets at our Gate House alongside many other duties; ensuring everyone receives exceptional service. You will also be ensuring the safety and security of the site, along with the objects and people within them.  

It is anticipated you might be required to work at least one event per month.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, security and working as part of a team. You will have a suitable level of fitness in order to carry out the fundamental requirements of the job profile, which will involve working both indoors and outdoors, as well as some evening events.

An interest and knowledge in history is advantageous but not necessary.
