We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we’re bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them. We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.
Could you embody a 1,000 year old fortress in 280 characters?
Historic Royal Palaces is looking for a Social Media Manager to take our six palaces, 1,000 years of history, and cast of fascinating ‘Kings, Queens and in-betweens’ to the wider world via our social media channels.
We are an independent charity with a reputation for delivering history with a twist. Our Social Media Manager plays a key role in the digital delivery of that ambition. We already have 1.8 million content-hungry followers, but we are keen to expand and reach new audiences by growing our channels further.
In this role, you will develop and own the social media strategy for Historic Royal Palaces. Leading a team of two Social Media Officers, you will devise and implement social media campaigns for projects, events and news across six world-famous historic sites. Working in the Media and PR team, you’ll need a nose for a good story as you seek out opportunities to raise the profile and enhance the reputation of Historic Royal Palaces.
We are looking for a self-starter with proven experience in social media and digital communications, creative flair, and the healthy dose of wit necessary to bring history to life in a limited amount of characters! You’ll be a passionate advocate for the power of social media, with the confidence and gravitas necessary to champion it within our organisation. With an expert knowledge of the UK digital media landscape, you’ll be collaborative, flexible, and able to quickly jump on social trends as and when they arise.
If you’ve got what it takes to deliver this exciting challenge and join our high performing team, we want to hear from you!
