Seasonal Warehouse Assistant

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. HRP's cause is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

We have temporary vacancies from March 2018 to August 2018 for two (2) Seasonal Warehouse Assistants based at our retail distribution centre in Croydon.

Working during our very busy peak summer period, you’ll assist with booking in deliveries from carriers, moving goods to the right place for bar coding, and picking stock to ensure our shops are fully stocked. You’ll be a key part of the process that puts items on the shelves, as well as carrying out regular stock checks and general housekeeping. You’ll also alert the warehouse manager to any problems so that they can be quickly solved.

Working on a rota basis, which will include alternate weekends, your hours of work will be 7 am to 4 pm (-1pm Sunday) - an average of 43.5 hours per week over 5 days.

Candidates should be able to work well under pressure and be calm and adaptable. You’ll have a good general level of education including numerical and accuracy skills, be PC literate and be a good communicator (fluent in written and spoken English).  You should be happy to liaise with internal and external customers whilst working as part of a team. You should have a full clean driving licence as delivering stock to the various Palaces across London may be required. Previous warehouse experience would be an advantage.
