Full time - 36 hours per week

With six magnificent palaces to look after there’s a steady stream of diverse goods and services to procure and contracts to negotiate and manage here at Historic Royal Palaces ranging from marketing and communications, catering, IT equipment and software, cleaning and facilities, conservation, ice rinks, consultancy services, exhibition design and costumed interpretation services to name just a few.

This is why we need a capable and motivated Procurement and Contracts Manager to ensure all procurement and contracting activity goes smoothly.

It is a key and demanding role with real scope for personal and professional development where, reporting to the Head of Procurement and Contracts, you will be required to work closely with expert colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

Your key responsibility will be providing a professional and efficient service ranging from provision of advice and guidance for small contracts to leading the management of procurement processes for complex and higher value contracts from start to finish.

Undertaking category spend reviews and supporting colleagues in contract and supplier management are also important facets of the role.

Possessing strong negotiation skills to secure value for money for the organisation are naturally important in conjunction with the ability to review and critically assess specifications, proposals and contractual terms in order to recognise and mitigate contractual and commercial risk.

As a member of a team of four you’ll also have the ability to work self sufficiently and effectively prioritise a large number of projects at once.

Ideally you will be MCIPS qualified (or along the path to qualification), but this is not essential if extensive practical experience can be demonstrated. However, a good understanding of Procurement best practice and attention to detail is key.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 22nd March 2018.

Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce.  Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.
