We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Postroom Messenger at HM Tower of London. This important role supports the work of the Maintenance and Facilities Department providing an efficient postal service ensuring post and parcels are collected and delivered in a timely and efficient manner. You will be responsible for the use of the Franking Machine ensuring correct postage is applied to all outgoing mail.

Not only will you be collecting and delivering post to/from staff and residence, you will maintain stock levels and deliver to various locations a range of supplies and consumables and assist with moving equipment round site. You will also be responsible for the cleanliness and stock levels of hot and cold drinks dispensers.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who will relish the challenge of working as part of a team and able to carry out physically demanding tasks throughout the day. We are looking for someone who is able to communicate effectively (written and spoken English) and work on their own initiative. 

Successful candidates are required to be flexible as the role requires you to work shifts which start at 0700 and end at 1600 hours, 5 days a week. As the role involves manual handling, you will need to be able to carry out the physical demands of the role and carry out any required manual handling training.

The role also involves driving a small vehicle, so we require the successful candidate to have a full, clean and valid UK driving license.
