Who are we?
We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world.
We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. We want everyone to feel welcome and accepted. We tell stories about the monarchs you know, and the lives you don’t. We let people explore and we set minds racing. We are a charity, and your support gives the palaces a future, for everyone.

How will you play your part?
The Tower of London has an exciting year ahead of it with the King’s coronation and new exhibitions taking place. Our Wardens are the face of HRP, and the main ways visitors interact with the palace. As part of this team, you will provide an individual welcome to visitors, offering a seamless and distinctive experience among the world’s best heritage sites, revealing the lives of the people who lived here with a sense of showmanship and flair. The Jewel House and the White Tower are two of the premier attractions at HM Tower of London.

We have various positions available including permanent and seasonal (March till September) roles.

As a member of the Warding team, you will be responsible for ensuring that every customer receives an unforgettable 'Royal Welcome'. You will enjoy talking to our visitors and have the ability to explain the importance and significance of the White Tower and the Crown Jewels in the life of the Nation, by bringing to life the stories and facts behind the many priceless treasures contained within, at the same time ensuring that security focus is maintained.

What you will be doing Day to Day?
The Royal Standard
At HRP, we expect every member of staff to treat our visitors with the same attitude as if they were interacting with a member of the Royal family. Joining our team, you will be interacting with thousands of visitors per day, all having different needs and requirements. As someone who will be working in Her Majesty’s Jewel House, we expect nothing less than excellence, striving to go that extra mile for all our honoured guests.

Guardianship
The Tower have been custodians to some of the country’s greatest treasures for centuries, it is vital that you continue this great tradition by providing a significant security presence, to act as a deterrent for anything or anyone who wishes to cause harm or wrongdoing.

Showmanship
The Tower has existed since the Norman conquest, as a keeper of Tower knowledge you would explain, teach, inform and entertain our visitors with stories that happened at the Tower. Events that had huge implications in history and helped shape the country we live in today.

Preservation
The Tower of London is a UNESCO world heritage site and a significant national landmark. With this comes the constant challenge of maintaining the natural aesthetic and the constant compliance of health and safety. You are our eyes and ears, you are responsible for identifying any defects or hazards that are on the site, reporting them to the necessary personnel.
