Seasonal rate - £9.90 per hour (£18,533 per annum pro-rata). Casual rate - £11.10 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Seasonal Contract: 18 hours per week, 1st April to 30th Sept, with weekend working required.

Casual Work: Ad hoc, zero-hours. Shifts available from 1st April to 30th Sept.

We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. 

You will be joining a dedicated Palace Host team with a real flair for outstanding customer service, welcoming visitors to His Majesty’s official residence in NI, Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.

As part of the team, you will be a welcoming presence at the Weston Pavilion, directing and engaging with our visitors, answering questions and helping to enrich their experience.  You will be selling tickets to our visitors, ensuring that they all receive a warm and friendly welcome, whilst providing them with everything they need to ensure they enjoy their visit to the full.

You will also be in our retail store providing outstanding service and sales to our customers, you will ensure the smooth operation of the shop and respond promptly and flexibly to customer needs.  

As a Palace Host, you will support the visitor experience across the estate, helping to share the stories of Hillsborough Castle in an entertaining and engaging style.

You will need to be a team player, who will relish the challenge of a busy working environment and can remain calm under pressure.  You should enjoy exploring new and creative ways of working that add real value to our customers’ experiences.

You’ll be friendly, professional and be able to communicate effectively with all different kinds of people. And above all, you will need to be a dynamic and experienced customer service provider, with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.  An interest and knowledge in history is advantageous but not essential.

You will work a roster according to the needs of the business which will be provided in advance, and the shifts will include working weekends and bank holidays.

Interviews will take place on 25th & 26th February.

Induction sessions for this role will take place on 20th & 21st March.
