Ecommerce has become an integral part of the Historic Royal Palaces’ commercial strategy and we are now recruiting for a full time Retail Ecommerce Trading Manager to join our newly formed Commercial team and drive sales and profit via the online shop in order to support the financial recovery of Historic Royal Palaces.

You will have full ownership of the online shop to deliver and evolve the strategy, maximise sales and profit through maximising traffic to the site, improving AOV, conversion and maximising opportunities via SEO. Growing the customer base and creating the best customer experience in line with the organisations cause, aims and principles will be a key priority.

Your role will include developing and managing a wide-ranging digital marketing plan, analysing data and looking for opportunities to grow sales and profit. Awareness of key competitors and keeping abreast of trends within the ecommerce sector will be key to business growth.

You will have both online shop platform experience (magento or similar) and have a retail or similar high-volume sales background. Experience of online ranging and marketing tools is essential, as well as an understanding of social media platforms and wider digital marketing trends.

Previous experience of setting sales targets and managing operational budgets is required and understanding how a warehouse fulfilment operation works would be advantageous.

A keen eye for detail and an ability to work with and manage digital assets is essential, as is a creative mindset and an ability to always strive for excellence.

As the role is working with a number of senior stakeholders across departments including marketing, CRM, buying and finance excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential.

You must be able to work on your own initiative and the role would suit someone who prefers to be part of a small team. You may be looking for your first ecommerce management role or someone looking for a generalist role across ecommerce disciplines. A can-do attitude and a strong commitment to the organisations cause is essential. Applicants should be educated to degree level and or have relevant experience in a similar role. An interest in history and heritage and the desire to make a difference in a charitable organisation is desirable.
