Based at HM Tower of London, with travel to other London sites including Banqueting House.

With your passion for excellent customer service, you could play a key role in the success of our Schools & Communities programme which encourages people of all ages to engage with some of the world’s most famous heritage sites.

This fast paced, and essential, operational role within the Schools & Community team is responsible for coordinating the smooth running of Public Engagement programmes across all sites, but with responsibility specifically for HM Tower of London, our busiest site for school visits. By providing efficient operational delivery and administrative support you will provide a high-quality experience and a warm welcome for visitors of all ages. By actively engaging with all learning participants during their visit you will recognise different needs and know how to accommodate them appropriately.   

You will have responsibility for the Assistant Site Coordinator who delivers daily operational support to the Tower of London school visit programme, and will also lead and support a team of volunteers, casual employees and other staff who assist on a varied programme of events. You will coordinate the work of the wider pool of HRP Site Coordinators at Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens, and will support the Learning Producers and Operations Manager with project management tasks and working groups.

This role involves working with young people and will therefore be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at enhanced level.

You will be able to work independently as well as inspire and lead a small team, and your aptitude for building effective working relationships will extend across teams and other departments such as HM Tower of London Operations. You will have a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service, an eye for detail enabling you to seek improvements, and the ability to coordinate a busy portfolio of activities and competing demands. You must have experience of supporting and leading volunteers and a working knowledge of volunteering best practice.
