It is an exciting time to join Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) as we embark on a new strategy to be a charity for everyone. Central to achieving this is our aspiration ‘to reach every school in the UK.’ To help manage and lead this development we have created two new Schools Content Manager roles. One focussed on developing the onsite palace programmes, the other focussed on national programmes and outreach. Each manager will manage a specific team and will be assigned a portfolio of activities to manage.

The roles

As a Schools Content Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Producers to deliver, enhance and expand our content for schools onsite, offsite and online. You will play a key role in developing the strategic direction of our schools provision at a time of growth and expansion and, along with your team, deliver large-scale, high-profile projects with diverse, wide-ranging, national reach.

Using your expertise in engaging young people in schools in the heritage or similar sectors, you will work closely with senior managers and the Schools and Communities team, to deliver high quality, projects and programmes that excite, inspire and enthuse a diversity of young people from 4-18 yrs, as well as their teachers. To do this, you will need to take an audience-focused approach in developing distinctive content that meets their needs and interests. Your work will produce high quality outputs for schools and continue to enhance HRP’s reputation as a sector leader for learning.

What we’re looking for

As a manager you will be responsible for programmes and projects across four of our London sites, as well as offsite and online. Therefore, you will need to be confident and skilled in managing multiple large-scale, complex projects and programmes simultaneously, to time and budget. You will have significant, proven expertise in developing and delivering content for a diversity of school learners and teachers across the age range. Knowledge of working across a national spectrum, recruiting and engaging schools with heritage or in similar sectors is essential.  You will have proven experience of managing and motivating successful, high achieving teams and establishing an inclusive, collaborative work environment that enables all to achieve.

With strong interpersonal skills, you will be a strategic thinker and have a record of success in working in partnerships/with multiple stakeholders to deliver initiatives for schools and/or young people. You will be adept at setting, evaluating and achieving agreed KPIs and skilled in communicating and influencing a range of stakeholders. This will be underlined by your secure knowledge of the national curriculum, education sector and cultural enrichment.
