Do you have a passion for communicating our shared heritage in new and creative ways?

As a Community Learning Producer you will be part of the Schools and Communities team developing and delivering high quality learning opportunities across all sites including Sensory Palaces, the HRP programme for adults with Dementia and their carers.  Using your expertise in building partnerships within the local community, you will work closely with other Community Learning Producers to devise, deliver and manage imaginative programmes, projects and activities that reach new audiences and break down barriers to access.

These will be designed to be inclusive and to meet the needs and interests of learners on-site, off-site and online. In order to do this you will need to take an audience-focused approach to developing distinctive and high quality content that delights, surprises and engages participants. 

Please note that interviews will take place during the second two weeks of January.

You will have proven experience in setting up from scratch, developing and delivering community engagement programmes in the heritage and/or cultural sector.  You will have extensive experience of relationship-building and partnership working within local communities.  You will have experience working with a range of informal learners including adults, vulnerable adults, young people and families.  Ideally you will have experience of working with adults with Dementia and/or delivering health and wellbeing programmes within the heritage or cultural sectors. You will have a strong understanding of the third sector and the role of different voluntary, charitable and local authority bodies within local communities.  You will have a passion for engaging a diversity of people with history and the stories of the past and good understanding of how people learn and how to create experiences with engage and inspire.

You will be an innovator who looks for ideas and inspiration beyond their area of expertise when developing ideas and ways of working.  You will be a self-starter, highly organised and with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects on time and on budget. You will be able to set objectives and evaluate against them, refining the programmes you work on. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and know how to build and foster relationships.

You’ll be IT literate and a competent user of word, excel and outlook.
