Play Attendant (Magic Garden)

Our  Magic Garden project will engage, inspire, excite and surprise our young visitors and their families. It will provide a fun and exciting experience that the whole family can explore together.  The Magic Garden highlights the principles of learning through play – a concept that has become increasingly influential in the development of sites and activities for children in recent years.

Children need and want to take risks when they play. Our Magic Garden offers children a stimulating and challenging environment for them to explore and develop their abilities. As the Magic Garden Play Attendant you will provide a presence in the Garden to help this all come together safely in a special area.

Your main duties will involve:

• Acting as the first point of contact for visitors.
• Maintaining and checking play equipment
• Being watchful for over-capacity problems and congestion
• Maintaining the garden and play areas clean
• Communicating the Magic Garden rules to visitors.
• Communicating with Garden management team

 We are looking for a responsible, able and active individual who can confidentially engage with all visitors. During the summer the Garden will be open seven days a week so regular week-end working and flexibility will be essential.

Experience and qualifications in First aid, gardening and cleansing in a relevant children’s environment would be ideal. However we anticipate a full programme of training for the chosen candidate. CRB check, driving license and perhaps a foreign language would also be desirable. Applicants would also have an understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
