State Apartment Warder (Customer Service, Security, Storytelling)
Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.
At Historic Royal Palaces, we stir every spirit to inspire and provoke change. As a State Apartment Warder, you will use style and panache to help every visitor have a unique and memorable experience at Hampton Court Palace.
With over half a million visitors annually through our gates, your main role will be to help ensure that everyone feels welcomed as a guest with individual needs.
You will be a passionate and engaging storyteller with the ability to bring history to life for our visitors by sharing fascinating stories about the palace and its past. You will be able to balance this with your responsibility for maintaining the security of precious artifacts and exhibits, the safety of the public and, when required, for carrying out emergency procedures confidently.
You will have a commitment to deliver exceptional customer service and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team, requiring strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. An interest in history is also desirable for this role.

Initial interviews will be held week commencing 3rd February with final interviews week commencing 17th February.
Start date will be 23rd March 2020 pending appropriate security clearance being satisfied, with an end date of 1st November 2020.
