Summer Play Attendant (Magic Garden)

Our Magic Garden is designed to engage, inspire, excite and surprise our young visitors and their families. It provides a fun and exciting experience that the whole family can explore together. The Magic Garden highlights the principles of learning through play – a concept that has become increasingly influential in the development of sites and activities for children in recent years.

Children need and want to take risks when they play. Our Magic Garden offers children a stimulating and challenging environment for them to explore and develop their abilities. As a Seasonal Magic Garden Play Attendant, you will join the team that helps children explore safely and have a wonderful time.

Your main duties will involve:

• Acting as the first point of contact for visitors.
• Maintaining and checking play equipment
• Being watchful for over-capacity problems and congestion
• Maintaining the garden and play areas clean
• Communicating the Magic Garden rules to visitors.

We are looking for responsible, able and active individuals who can confidentially engage with all visitors and help them enjoy this unique outdoor family play area, while maintaining a safe environment and encouraging and implementing safe behaviour within the garden.

Minimum requirements:

• Up to date and recent enhanced CRB / DBS check in place.
• Experience of working in a similar children environment where some child supervision was required.
• An understanding Child Behaviour
• Have a pleasant, approachable personality.
• Calm and collected under pressure.
• Willing to take responsibility and initiative.
• Methodical and logical problem solver

As the garden will be open seven days a week, there will be a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota basis.

Salary: £20,244 per annum
