Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.

Our season kicks off with the Easter break where a range of activities for all our audiences never ceases to provide a stimulating and engaging program including the opening of our new exhibition, Gold & Glory: Henry VIII and the French King Exhibition. But the story doesn’t finish there. Between May 23rd and 31st, we will host Henry VIII vs. François: The Rematch. As we head into the summer with well-known annual events such as our BBC Good Food Festival, RHS Flower Show and our music festival with world famous performers. This year we will also host The Great Tudor Games from July 25th through to August 23rd.These are just some of the exciting projects we have planned for 2020.

Whether you’re selling tickets to some of these major talked about events or fielding questions on all aspects of the palace and its gardens, you can be part of our team in this unique setting providing a world class visitor experience to our visitors. You will be part of an important team, responsible for championing our membership scheme, and maximizing income from upselling gift aid, donations and guidebooks

We are looking to recruit a number of full-time and part-time staff to join the Welcome Team in March in preparation for the busy spring and summer holiday period.

All Candidates should be available for interviews on the 14th February and ready to start employment w/c 9th and 16th March 2020.

What are we looking for?

Confident, outgoing and flexible, you will ideally have experience or know what it takes to deliver 5 star service in a customer facing role and be confident using ticketing systems. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to maximising income from all avenues including membership, tickets sales, donations, gift aid and guidebooks. You will not be afraid to show initiative and strive to exceed both service levels and sales targets. In addition to the above, you will also be able to deal with queue management and visitor flow management, particularly in areas which experience a high footfall, such as the Magic Garden and the Maze.

Naturally, you’ll have great people skills and the ability to stay calm whilst working in a fun, but busy, sometimes challenging, family friendly environment.

We are looking for number of staff to join our team who will work on a roster which will include working most weekends and Bank Holidays. Occasional evening work may be required. Annualised hours and casual contracts will be offered, working between the hours of 09:00 and 17:45. Working hours will vary and may increase / decrease weekly according to the needs of the business.
