No visit to any of our Palaces would be complete without buying a memento of a fantastic day out! We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and enthusiastic individual to join our Retail team at Hampton Court Palace, as a Buyer. 

Retail Buying sits at the commercial heart of HRP and this challenging role will involve implementing our retail strategies and objectives, with the support and direction of the Head of Buying.

Drawing on the unique features of each of the Palaces and working closely with the Merchandiser, you will manage all aspects of the retail buying (including planning, product ranging and sourcing) and be responsible for achieving forecasted targets for specific product categories within tight budgetary constraints. All this while delighting our customers and boosting our bottom line.

With your product development and selection experience across numerous merchandise categories, you will use your communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure maximum profitability.

Ideally educated to degree level, you must possess proven experience of product development, commercial merchandise delivery, buying for multi-site, multi- channel volume retail business, and direct import buying on an FOB basis.

Diligent and hard working with an aptitude for detail, you’ll need excellent negotiation, analytical, communication (verbal and written English) and creative thinking skills. A team player who’s able to work to tight deadlines, you’ll have impressive multi-tasking, organisational and proactive time management abilities. 

Salary:          £47,011 per annum
