In Public Engagement we seek to reach new and broader audiences, and to deepen our relationships with current ones, through distinctive programming onsite, offsite and online. We work strategically, developing and evaluating work with outcomes first. Innovation and creativity, effective partnerships, large-scale, ambitious events, and an audience-focus are all central to our approach.

Our programmes encompass learning and engagement activity for formal and informal audiences, 0 – 19 years and adults. The programmes run across the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. Through the public engagement programmes HRP seeks to inspire and empower children, young people and adults to explore these palaces and their stories through the imaginative, engaging and unexpected.

As an Assistant Learning Producer for the Explorer Programme you will be part of the Public Engagement team developing and delivering high quality learning and engagement opportunities across all sites.  You will work closely with other Learning Producers to devise and deliver imaginative programmes, projects and activities. These will be designed to be inclusive and to meet the needs and interests of informal and formal learners on-site, off-site and online.

We are looking for an intern to work with schools, families and young people. We will provide training to support you within the role and mentoring to help you develop professionally. You will also have access to relevant training courses as part of HRP’s wide ranging and high quality staff learning and development programme.

You will be passionate about engaging a diverse range of children with the stories and heritage of our Palaces. You will be an innovator who looks for inspiration beyond their area of expertise when developing ideas and ways of working.  You will be highly organised with an ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects on time and on budget. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and know how to build and foster relationships. You will have a relevant degree in Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences and some experience of working in a public facing and/or office environment.

You’ll be IT literate and a competent user of word, excel and outlook.

Interviews will be held on 1st and 2nd Feburary 2018.

Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce.  Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.
