Hillsborough Castle is a working Royal Residence, the base for the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and a great place for the public to visit.  Historic Royal Palaces’ exciting landmark project will see this exquisite and fascinating historic property open its doors to everyone.  Our ambitious programme of conservation, re-presentation and re-imagination, will make Hillsborough Castle and Gardens a place for discovery, delight, and learning for visitors of all ages.  The transformation has begun with work on an inspirational Clore Learning Centre, the conversion of the Stableyard into an elegant visitor facility and the addition of a car and coach park with access directly from the A1.  The Castle and Gardens will be closed for the re-presentation of the magnificent State Rooms, re-opening in July 2018. Visitors will then be welcomed to visit the elegant Castle and lovely Gardens, with new features to see almost every month, culminating in the opening of the beautiful Walled Garden and visitor facilities in 2019.

We are looking for enthusiastic indiviudals to join our team and bring the amazing stories of Hillsborough Castle to life. From the moment visitors enter the Castle you will be part of an expert team that relish in delivering a Royal Welcome visitor experience for all.  You will have a passion for working with people, great communication skills and the confidence to proactively engage with all our visitors.

Through this passion, you will bring the palace to life by sharing fascinating (factual!) stories about the palace and its residents. You will also be responsible for maintaining the security of the palace and its collections.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th February, please ensure you are available to attend during this period.

We’ll give you all the training you need to provide our visitors with an amazing experience, all we ask is that you have: • Face to face customer service experience and the ability to deliver great service in a proactive and enthusiastic way • A passion for working with people and a positive, can do attitude • Great communication skills with a flair for storytelling • The confidence to proactively engage with all our visitors and to deliver talks and tours of the Palace • A basic knowledge of Northern Ireland’s history and language skills would be desirable
