An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Security Manager to lead and develop our teams to ensure the provision of a safe and secure environment and security service for all customers and visitors to Hillsborough Castle. Reporting to the Operations & Visitor Services Manager, you will work in conjunction with all departments, building robust and lasting relationships to assist you and the team in delivering 5* service at all times.

As a strong leader, you will proactively manage the security team, ensuring that professional security standards are constantly delivered. You will be responsible for managing the efficient and effective operation of the Control Room, including equipment, records and rosters, as well as reviewing CCTV, Fortecho equipment and intruder alarms.  You will ensure that the team are trained to the highest level and all policies, procedures and operational requirements are understood and consistently followed at all times.  You will also undertake a review to develop security operational procedures and training manuals.

Applicants must have proven experience in leading and managing security teams as well as change management experience as Hillsborough Castle plans to increase its visitor numbers to 200,000 per year in 2019.  Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in this role as is a resilient and determined approach. Experience in a similar role with an excellent working knowledge/passion for security best practise, security equipment and system, health and safety and fire knowledge is essential.  The ideal candidate will come from a similar visitor attraction or historic property and have a thorough understanding of managing the security operation on this scale.

This role will involve working a combination of days and nights in order to support all shifts as well as occasional weekend working as part of the duty manager roster.
